Social Impact

Light poverty is the lack of access to reliable artificial lighting, a problem that impacts millions around the world. To truly understand these challenges, we continuously engage with those in need, listening to their experiences and insights.

Our research has highlighted three critical areas where dependable lighting can make a profound impact: improving education, empowering women, and enhancing security. These findings drive our commitment to delivering sustainable lighting solutions to underserved communities.

    Education

In many homes without reliable electricity, students struggle to do homework or learn at night. With only one flashlight available, parents use that light for essential household tasks, leaving children in the dark and hindering their educational progress.

    Women's Empowerment

Studies show that women reinvest 90% of their income into their communities and families, compared to men who reinvest less than 40%. However, without reliable lighting, women's productivity and ability to contribute to their communities and families are severely limited after sundown.

  • Security

It's a fact when the lights go out, crime rates increase, and security systems fail without electricity. This leaves families vulnerable and unable to protect their homes and loved ones during power outages.
